Seeking public support to identify shooting suspect vehicle

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is seeking public assistance to locate a vehicle believed to be involved in a homicide that occurred last month in the community of Panorama Hills.

At approximately 10:45 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, police were called to the 100 block of Panamount Villas N.W., for reports of a shooting. Roy Chi Yan MAC, 38, died as a result of the shooting. The attack appears to have been targeted.

Police are seeking public assistance to identify and locate the vehicle believed to have been used by the suspects in the murder.

The vehicle is described as a dark-coloured, 2013 to 2018 model Dodge Ram 1500 Sport crew cab truck with dark wheels or rims. It is alleged that the suspects arrived in the vehicle prior to the victim returning home and that they then fled the scene in the vehicle after the shooting. It is also believed that the suspect vehicle may have been in the area earlier in the day.

Police would like to speak with anyone who saw a similar vehicle fleeing the area at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, as well as anyone who may have seen a like vehicle in the area during the day or leading up to the incident.

The public is asked to contact police if they have noticed a vehicle, matching the above description, parked on the street and or in a commercial parking lot for an extended period of time, or if anyone has recently seen a similar vehicle in their community that they do not typically see in their community.

Stock photos of a vehicle similar to the suspect vehicle are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspect vehicle is asked to contact the police non-emergency number, 403-266-1234, or Crime Stoppers anonymously using either of the following methods.
