Second victim of house fire succumbs to injuries - Kincora

Police can confirm that the second victim in a domestic-related homicide in the community of Kincora has died.

At approximately 2 p.m., on Saturday, May 25, 2019, emergency crews were called to the 0 to 100 block of Kincora Drive N.W., for reports of a house fire. Upon arrival, two people were found deceased, Dorsa DEHDARI, 22, of Calgary, and Heidar DEHDARI, 56, of Calgary. A third person was found on scene who at the time was suffering from life-altering injuries as the result of the intentionally set fire.

On Monday, Sept. 2, 2019, Dorna DEHDARI, 15, of Calgary, succumbed to complications due to the injuries she sustained in the fire on May 25. Police believe both Dorna and Dorsa were the victims of a domestic-related homicide. Heidar DEHDARI, 56, of Calgary, the father of both victims, is believed to be responsible for intentionally setting the fatal fire.

No charges will be laid in relation to this incident and police are not searching for additional suspects.

This is a very traumatic event for the family and friends of the victims. The Dehdari family has released the following statement.

“We are devasted to inform you that Dorna has died as a result of complications due to injuries she sustained from the original events of May 25. We appreciate all of the support we have received from members of the community. We ask for our privacy to be respected at this time.” – The Dehdari Family
