Police investigate two deaths - Kincora

The Calgary Police Service is investigating the deaths of two people in the northwest community of Kincora.

At approximately 2 p.m., on Saturday, May 25, 2019, emergency crews were called to the 0-100 block of Kincora Drive N.W., for reports of a house fire. Upon arrival, two people were found deceased, while a third had suffered life-altering injuries. Police are now investigating this as a domestic related homicide and attempted murder.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are trying to determine the events leading up to the incident. It is believed an altercation occurred inside the home and a fire was intentionally set. Evidence at the scene suggests the fire was a contributing factor in the homicide. A motive has yet to be determined.

Preliminary autopsies are complete and determination of the cause of death for both of the deceased is pending further testing. The victim has been identified as Dorsa DEHDARI, 22, of Calgary. The second deceased, believed to be the suspect, is identified as Heidar DEHDARI, 56, of Calgary. Police are not seeking any other suspects at this time. Police can confirm Heidar is Dorsa’s father.

As with any homicide, or attempted homicide, this is a very traumatic event for the family and friends of the victims. The Dehdari family has released the following statement.

“We wish to share that the news published by various media outlets to date was not provided by our family and we do not confirm the accuracy of any content published. We ask for our privacy to be respected in this time of unimaginable sorrow.” – The Dehdari Family
