Second person charged in death of Tyler SANDERSON

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has charged a second person believed to have been involved in the death of Tyler SANDERSON.

At approximately 9:15 p.m., on Sunday, May 15, 2016, police were called to a disturbance in the 5500 block of Maddock Drive N.E. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man in his 20s who had been seriously assaulted. The victim was transported to hospital where he later died from his injuries.

On Monday, July 18, 2016, Lori Ann HEAVENFIRE, 34, was charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of SANDERSON.

It is believed the victim met with HEAVENFIRE and at least one other man in relation to drug activity and that an altercation occurred in the area of Memorial Drive and 52 Street N.E. Investigators believe the victim made his way home after the altercation, before collapsing in his yard where he was found by family members.

The investigation continued following the arrest of HEAVENFIRE and as a result, Dylan Irvin George CALF, 24, of no fixed address, is also charged with second-degree murder. CALF will next appear in court on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016.
