Woman charged in connection to death of Tyler SANDERSON

The Calgary Police Service has charged a woman in connection with the death of a man earlier this year.

At approximately 9:15 p.m., on Sunday, May 15, 2016, police were called to a disturbance in the 5500 block of Maddock Drive N.E. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man in his 20s who had been seriously assaulted. The victim was transported to hospital where he later died from his injuries.

An autopsy identified the victim as Tyler SANDERSON, 24, of Calgary. Cause of death will not be released.

It is believed the victim met with a woman in relation to drug activity and that an altercation occurred between the two in the area of Memorial Drive and 52 Street N.E. Investigators believe the victim made his way home after the altercation, before collapsing in his yard where he was found by family members.

Lori Ann HEAVENFIRE, 34, is charged with second-degree murder. She will next appear in court on Wednesday, July 20, 2016.
