Passenger seriously injured in Calgary Transit bus collision

An 80-year-old woman has sustained life-altering injuries following a collision in northwest Calgary this morning involving a Calgary Transit bus.

At approximately 9:40 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, a passenger was exiting a Calgary Transit bus at the stop located at Beddington Boulevard N.W. and Centre Street N., when she fell and was struck by the bus as it left the stop.

The pedestrian, an 80-year-old woman, was transported to the hospital with serious, life-altering injuries. The driver of the bus was not injured and remained at the scene.

Speed and impairment are not believed to be factors in the collision and at this time, the investigation is still ongoing.
