Member Charged

The Calgary Police Service has charged a sworn member in connection with an alleged domestic matter.

On Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, the Calgary Police Service Domestic Conflict Unit received a complaint dating back to Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015.

Upon completion of the investigation, the CPS consulted the Edmonton Crown Prosecutor’s Office, which recommended charges.

On Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, the member was charged with one count each of criminal harassment and breach of trust. The breach of trust charge relates to an alleged use of CPS Information Technology resources during the alleged offence.

As these charges relate to domestic offences, in order to protect the privacy of the victim, no further details will be released.

The member has been placed on administrative leave, during which their status will be reviewed.
