The Calgary Police Service Centralized Break and Enter Team is releasing CCTV footage to help identify three individuals believed to be responsible for a break and enter, during which the homeowner was present.

On Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at approximately 4:20 p.m., police were called to a residence located in the 0 to 100 block of Aspen Ridge Close S.W., for a reported break and enter in progress. A woman, who was home with her two children, was inside her residence on the second storey when she heard a noise. The woman checked outside her bedroom window, however couldn’t see anyone. As she left her room to check downstairs, she saw a man coming up the stairs. She immediately ran back into her room where her children were, locked the door and called 9-1-1. The offenders immediately left the residence and were gone before police arrived.

After reviewing CCTV footage, a silver Dodge Avenger, with three occupants inside, was seen pulling up to the back of the residence and parking. A female exited the vehicle, approached the patio door of the residence and proceeded to knock. After waiting approximately 30 seconds with no answer, she returned to the vehicle. At that time, two males exited the car and approached the patio door with a crowbar. After forcing their way into the home, the two males stole a winter coat and two sets of keys belonging to the house and a separate vehicle. They can be seen fleeing the residence less than a minute later.

Investigators were able to identify the licence plate for the Dodge Avenger and determined the vehicle to be stolen. It has since been recovered. Police also believe that the occupant(s) in a black pickup truck, seen following the Avenger, may have information in relation to this offence.

Police are seeking public assistance to identify the three suspects involved and the occupants of the black pickup truck.

The female is described as Caucasian, 25 to 30 years old, approximately 5’ to 5’4” tall, with a slim build and blond hair. She was wearing white sport shoes, blue jeans, a baggy grey hoodie and a black baseball hat with a white logo on the front.

The first male is described as Caucasian, 25 to 30 years old, 5’9” to 6’2” tall, with an average build. He was wearing white Adidas sport shoes with black stripes, blue jeans, a white windbreaker, black T-shirt, black sunglasses, black gloves and a white baseball hat.

The second male is described as Caucasian, 25 to 30 years old, 5’4” to 5’7” tall, with an average build. He was wearing black Nike sport shoes with a white Nike swoosh, dark grey sweatpants, a grey windbreaker jacket, black baseball hat, black sunglasses and black gloves.

Anyone with information about this incident or the identities of the three suspects is asked to call the CPS non-emergency line at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be left anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers through any of the following methods:
