Warrant issued in Panorama Hills stabbing

A person of interest previously sought in relation to a fatal stabbing that occurred yesterday in northwest Calgary is now wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

The stabbing was reported to us at approximately 10:45 a.m., yesterday, Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020. We were called to a residence located in the 200 block of Panatella Court N.W., for reports of a man suffering from stab wounds. EMS attended the scene and located the male deceased.

At this time, it is believed the offender was known to the victim and the stabbing was not random. Detectives continue to speak with witnesses and are investigating this incident as a homicide.

After completion of an autopsy by The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the victim has been identified as Kyreese George WRIGHT, 20, of Calgary.

Michael ELENDU, 19, is now wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder. He is described as 6'3" tall, with a slim build, brown eyes and black hair. A photo of ELENDU is available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.
