Update: Suspicious death in Lower Mount Royal

The death of a woman in the community of Lower Mount Royal has been deemed non-criminal.

At approx. 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, we were called to the 1700 block of 9A Street S.W. for reports of a woman believed to be deceased in a residence. Upon arrival, officers located a woman deceased within the home, and our Homicide Unit was called in to investigate.

Following an autopsy completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner today, Thursday, July 10, 2025, the death has been determined to be non-suspicious.

As the incident is not criminal in nature, no further details, including the name of the deceased, will be released.
