Update: Police investigating suspicious death in Pineridge

The suspicious death that was reported yesterday in the northeast community of Pineridge has now been deemed a homicide.

An autopsy completed today, Monday, Sept. 25, 2023, by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME), confirmed the identity of the victim as Ali Shaiet, 58, of Calgary.

Evidence at the scene suggests the victim was shot through the window of a residence. The investigation is ongoing.
