Update: Man charged with aggravated assault following altercation

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner completed an autopsy today, Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, in relation to a fatality that occurred following an altercation in northwest Calgary earlier this week.

As the final autopsy results are still pending toxicology and neuropathy, the manner of death currently remains undetermined. The victim, a 76-year-old man, will not be publicly identified at this time.

We continue to work with the Crown Prosecution Service to consult on the status of charges for the man who was charged yesterday, and continue to ask any witnesses to the altercation to come forward with information.
