Update #2: Police investigate fatal altercation

After an autopsy completed today, the fatal altercation that occurred on Thursday, June 6, 2024, has officially been deemed a homicide.

An autopsy completed today, Sunday, June 9, 2024, by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, confirmed the identity of the victim as Dean VISSER, 16, of Calgary.

“This tragic incident didn’t need to happen. My condolences go out to the victim’s family,” says Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit Staff Sergeant Sean Gregson. “The impact of an incident like this has a ripple effect through the community. I sympathize with family and friends who have been shaken by this tragic loss.”
