Third indecent act occurs in southeast

Police are investigating a third incident of a man committing an indecent act in the city’s southeast and are again asking the public for information that could help identify a suspect.

The most recent incident occurred around 5:15 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019. A nine-year-old girl reported that she was walking near the intersection of 146 Avenue and Bow Bottom Trail S.E., when a man approached her to ask directions. He then exposed himself and started masturbating.

The man fled when the girl ran to a woman talking on her phone near the intersection of 146 Avenue and Deerfield Drive S.E. She did not tell the woman what happened, but police would still like to speak to this witness.

Based on the suspect description and close proximity, investigators believe this suspect may be the same man involved in two recent indecent acts in the communities of Deer Ridge and Lynnwood.

The suspect is described as having light-brown skin, possibly being South Asian, in his late 20s or 30s, with a medium build, short wavy black hair and brown eyes. The most recent victim said he had a short beard or several days of growth at the time of the incident.

In one of the incidents, the victim said he was driving a dark-green, two-door Volkswagen.

Anyone with information about these incidents or the identity of the suspect is asked to call the Calgary Police Service non-emergency number at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers through either of the following methods:
