Seeking public assistance - Pedestrian collision - Richmond Road and Crowchild Trail S.W.

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in relation to a fatal pedestrian collision.

At approximately 12:45 p.m., on Monday, July 16, 2018, a 75-year-old man was crossing the street in a marked intersection at Richmond Road and Crowchild Trail S.W. A cyclist traveling northbound on Richmond Road failed to stop for a red light at the intersection and struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, July 19, 2018.

The cyclist was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
