Release of High-Risk Offender – Robert Peter Myles REES
In the interest of public safety, the Calgary Police Service is issuing the following public information and warning regarding the release and relocation of a high-risk offender.
Robert Peter Myles REES, 40, was released to the Calgary community today, Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, after serving a three-year sentence for luring a person under the age of 16 by means of telecommunication.
REES has previous convictions for sexual interference, luring a person under the age of 16 by means of telecommunication, and child pornography related offences. The majority of his crimes were committed in the Edmonton area.
REES is currently subject to a Release Order and will be monitored by the Calgary Police Service High-Risk Offender Program.
He is described as 6’4” tall, approximately 180 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
The Calgary Police Service is issuing this information and warning after careful deliberation and consideration of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest to inform the members of the community of the release of REES.
Members of the public are advised that the intent of the process is to enable members of the public to take suitable precautionary measures and not to embark on any form of vigilante action.

About the CPS High-Risk Offender Program
The Calgary Police Service High-Risk Offender Program (HROP) monitors offenders who have been released by the courts to the Calgary community and who have been determined to have a high-risk to reoffend in a violent or sexual manner. With our law enforcement partners, officers in HROP assess an offender’s risk factors and use a number of tactics to ensure they are abiding by court-imposed conditions to manage their risk to the community. Court-imposed conditions can include the use of electronic monitoring, prohibitions on weapons, drugs and alcohol, mandated counselling and treatment, curfews and other relevant restrictions.
