RCMP vehicle and equipment recovered

An RCMP vehicle and several items of police equipment have been recovered after having been stolen last week.

On Tuesday, March 12, 2019, between approximately 10:15 and 10:35 p.m., an unmarked RCMP vehicle was taken from the parking lot, located in northeast Calgary. The vehicle also contained police equipment, including police identification and a police badge, soft body armour, pepper spray, handcuffs, and a Smith & Wesson handgun.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 13, 2019, the vehicle was recovered from a church parking lot, located in the 2800 block of 19 Street N.W.

Several additional items have since been located by Calgary police, including the police badge. The firearm and soft body armour were recovered on Sunday, March 17, 2019.

As this is an ongoing investigation, no further details are available at this time.
