Police seek vehicle in homicide investigation - MCKAY

We continue to investigate a homicide that occurred in the city’s southeast earlier this week, and today are asking for the public’s help to locate a vehicle of interest.

At approximately 5:40 a.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, police were called for reports of gunshots in the 0-100 block of Erin Circle S.E. Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from life-threatening injuries. Despite first responder efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

An autopsy was performed on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, and the victim has been identified as Kalen Peter MCKAY, 34, also known as Peter.

After canvasing the neighbourhood and collecting CCTV footage, our investigators are looking to locate a vehicle of interest, a white Dodge Journey, which was seen in the area at the time gunshots were heard. Photos and CCTV footage of this vehicle are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

We are looking to speak to anyone who may have seen a white Dodge Journey in the area of Erin Circle S.E. in the early hours of Tuesday, August 24, or anyone that may have information on who had access to this type of vehicle and went to meet Kalen Peter MCKAY. Often times even the smallest piece of information can have a huge impact with helping to solve a case.
