Police seek public assistance in historic missing person case

The Calgary Police Service and Crime Stoppers are working together to continue investigating historical missing persons cases.

We are asking for the public’s help to gather information regarding Holly Jo-Ann BALZER, who was 46 at the time of her disappearance. Holly was reported missing from Calgary on May 18, 2013, after her family had not heard from or seen her for approximately two months.

The investigation has been ongoing, and members of the Calgary Police Service Missing Persons Team would like to identify and speak with people who have information about Holly and her whereabouts after March 2013.

Holly is described as 5’9” tall, approximately 93 pounds, with a slim build, green eyes and blond hair. She does not have teeth but sometimes wears dentures and has a red birthmark on the back of her neck. It is unknown what she was wearing when she went missing.

Photos of Holly are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom and the Calgary Crime Stoppers website (www.calgarycrimestoppers.org) under the Cold Cases – Missing Persons section. Holly is also listed as a missing person on Canada’s Missing website (http://www.canadasmissing.ca/).

Anyone with information about Holly’s disappearance, or her movements any time after March 2013 is asked to contact police by calling 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers through any of the following methods:
