Police seek assistance in identifying Fish Creek sexual assault suspect

Our Sexual Assault Investigative Unit continues to investigate a reported assault that occurred in Fish Creek Park last week.

On Saturday, May 23, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a woman was jogging in the park near the area of Sue Higgins Bridge and Mallard Point, when an unknown male approached her from behind while riding a Black BMX bike and sexually assaulted her.

Investigators believe this assault is related to the recent assaults that also occurred in Fish Creek Park earlier this year.

The suspect is described as being in his late teens to early 20s, approximately 6’ tall, with a light skin tone and short, shaggy blond hair. At the time of this incident, he was seen wearing a black hoodie with a colourful graphic on the side and blue jeans.

Anyone who believes they are a victim of sexual assault is encouraged to report it regardless of when it occurred.
