Police seek assistance in identifying sexual assault suspect

We are asking the public for their help in identifying an unknown man who is believed to be responsible for two separate sexual assaults that took place last week in the city’s southeast.

On Monday, April 20, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a woman was jogging in Fish Creek Park near Mallard Point when she was sexually assaulted by an unknown man who was riding an e-scooter. It is believed the man had been observing the woman near the on-site bathrooms before the incident occurred.

The suspect continued to ride the e-scooter towards the community of Douglasdale.

It is believed the man sexually assaulted another woman in the park approximately 20 minuets prior to this incident.

The suspect is described as being in his late teens to early 20s, approximately 6’ tall, with a light skin tone and blond hair. At the time of the incidents, he was wearing black pants, a red hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up over his head and a white backpack with colourful spots. He was riding the e-scooter while playing music out loud on a speaker.

Anyone who believes they are a victim of sexual assault is encouraged to report it regardless of when it occurred.
