Police search for suspect in several cannabis store robberies

Update: We are no longer seeking public assistance to identify this suspect. The man has been identified and charged in relation to these incidents.

We are asking for the public’s help to identify a man believed to be responsible for up to seven commercial robberies targeting cannabis and liquor stores in various communities across Calgary.

From Tuesday, July 30, 2024, to Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024, six robberies have occurred at cannabis stores and one robbery has occurred at a liquor store. Investigators believe the same suspect is responsible.

The suspect is believed to have entered several of the businesses, inquired about the products and fled with stolen items. In some instances, the suspect also threatened the store employees with a gun, demanded cash and fled with an undisclosed amount of money and stolen merchandise.

The suspect is described as a man, approximately 25 years old, between 5’9” and 5’11” tall, with a medium build. The suspect is believed to have worn various distinctive outfits during the robberies:

·         A black cowboy hat with silver detail on the band, black mirrored sunglasses, a black windbreaker, black jeans, black Sketchers sneakers and was carrying a black backpack.

·         A black jacket with neon-yellow and white reflective material, black pants, a red and black toque, neon-yellow gloves, black mirrored sunglasses, black shoes and was carrying a black backpack.

·         A black hooded jacket, black pants, black mirrored sunglasses, black shoes and was carrying a black backpack.

·         A blue zip-up hoodie, a white shirt, a black and white Calgary Flames baseball cap, beige pants, blue and white runners, and was carrying a black backpack.
