Police search for residential break-and-enter suspect

We are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who is believed to be responsible for an attempted break-and-enter that occurred in January 2025 in the northwest community of Mount Pleasant.

At approximately 3 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, the victim was inside her residence located in the 800 block of 24 Avenue N.W., when she received a notification on her phone indicating someone was at the front door.

The victim did not recognize the man and did not open the door.

Shortly after, it is believed the man began kicking the front door and using a sharp object to try and gain entry to the home.

The victim fled the residence through the back door and immediately contacted police.

The suspect was unable to gain access through the front door and is believed to have fled in a silver 2006 Ford Escape.

The suspect is described as approximately 40 to 60 years old, with a slim build and long, grey hair styled in a ponytail. He was last seen wearing a denim jacket, a navy-blue shirt, dark-coloured pants, sunglasses, and black Nike gloves.
