Police investigate suspicious death in city’s southeast – Update

Charges are pending against a man who is believed to be connected to a suspicious death that occurred last night in the southeast community of Deer Run.

Shortly after 10 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, police were called to a home for reports of a disturbance. A man in his 70s was located with severe injuries and taken to hospital where he died a short time later. It is believed that this incident is domestic in nature.

The suspect, a man in his 30s, was located downtown and arrested early this morning in the 100 block of Ninth Avenue S.W. He remains in custody and charges are pending.

The autopsy for the deceased is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 17. 2025.

As the investigation is in its early stages, no further information will be released until after completion of the autopsy.
