Police investigate serious-injury collision in WestHills Towne Centre

We continue to investigate a collision that occurred yesterday after a vehicle struck a business located in WestHills Towne Centre.

At approximately 10:20 a.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023, we were called to Ridley’s Cycle, located at 490 Stewart Green S.W., for reports of a single-vehicle collision.

At the time, a black Dodge Durango, operated by a 53-year-old man, was travelling into the parking lot from Stewart Green S.W.

The vehicle continued through the parking lot passing in front of Urban Barn and Mastermind Toys. The vehicle then failed to make a turn at the intersection and drove into the corner of Ridley’s Cycle.

The impact caused significant damage to the building and to the Durango.

The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition.

Excessive speed is considered a factor in this collision. Alcohol and drugs are not considered factors in this collision.
