Police incident in Copperfield - Update

Earlier today, Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at approximately 12 p.m., police were called to the 200 block of Copperstone Garden S.E., for reports of a man seen walking in the area with a firearm. The man entered his residence nearby and was believed to be in crisis. Over the course of several hours, officers worked to ensure the safety of the man and the public. The incident has been resolved without any further danger to the public. The man is now in custody.

People in the area are no longer required to shelter in place and there is no threat to public safety.
