Police contain residence in Marlborough following shooting

The Calgary Police Service has contained a residence in the 1000 block of Marcombe Drive N.E., after tracking suspects to the home that are believed to have been involved in a shooting earlier this evening.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, police were called to a convenience store located at 3304 64 Street N.E., for reports that shots had been fired. The suspects fled the scene before police arrived and no one was found to be injured.

The investigation quickly led police to the residence on Marcombe Drive, and officers have contained the residence so no one can leave. As there is potentially a firearm in the residence, the situation is being treated as high-risk.

Officers in the area will let any nearby residents know if they need to take any special precautions while the situation develops. Everyone else is asked to avoid the area while police work to resolve the incident as safely as possible.
