Police believe death of man in Greenview to be non-criminal

The Calgary Police Service investigated the death of a man that occurred earlier this week in the northeast community of Greenview, and have determined the death is not criminal in nature.

At approximately 8:10 p.m., on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, police were called to the 4400 block of Greenview Drive N.E., for reports of a man in medical distress. Upon arrival, the man was found deceased.

The death was investigated by our Homicide Unit and after a thorough review of evidence, interviews with several witnesses, and following an autopsy completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the death was deemed non-criminal.

The man who was taken into custody for questioning regarding the incident has since been released.

As the incident is not considered criminal, no further details will be released.
