Pedestrian hit and run results in fatality; police seeking vehicle

The pedestrian struck in last week’s early morning hit and run has succumbed to his injuries and we continue to seek public assistance to locate the driver of the truck believed to be responsible for the collision.

At approximately 2:15 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, a pedestrian was in the westbound lanes of 50 Avenue S.W., between 1 Street S.W. and Macleod Trail, when a light-colored pick-up truck travelling westbound along 50 Avenue struck him.

The truck then continued to the intersection of Macleod Trail, fled the area, and failed to return to the scene.

We are still looking for an early 2000s, white or light-colored half ton pick-up truck, with possible front-end damage.

Photos of the truck obtained from CCTV nearby is available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact police by calling the non-emergency number at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers through any of the following methods:
