Man sought in stabbing arrested

A man wanted in connection with a stabbing last week in MacKenzie Towne, has now been arrested.

Mark Jonathan SEMAK, 35, of Calgary, was arrested around 1 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, without incident. He is now charged with one count of aggravated assault and two counts of failing to comply with a court order.

The stabbing is alleged to have occurred around 4 a.m., on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, in the 100 block of McKenzie Towne Lane S.E. Officers arrived at the scene to find an injured man in his 30s laying in the road.

It is believed that the suspect and victim knew each other. The victim remains in serious but stable condition.

While public tips did not help us locate the suspect in this case, investigations are regularly helped by information from the public. The support and help of Calgarians is not something we take for granted.
