Man arrested for multiple firearm offences

Police have arrested one man in relation to discharging a firearm in the northeast community of Whitehorn.

On Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022, at approximately 5:35 p.m., police were called to a residence located in the 300 block of Whitlock Way N.E., for reports of gunfire.

Evidence suggests a man drove his vehicle to a residential property, exited the vehicle and began to approach the home, when a verbal altercation took place between the man and the homeowner.

The homeowner was in possession of a loaded rifle and threatened the man. As the man attempted to leave the property, it is believed the homeowner fired at the man’s vehicle as he was driving away.

Investigators believe the man and the homeowner are known to one another.

Officers recovered the rifle from the scene and as a result, Brian CRISPENS, 34, of Calgary, is charged with:
-       One count of discharging a firearm
-       One count of unauthorized possession of a firearm
-       One count of careless use of a firearm
-       One count of possession of a weapon (firearm) for a dangerous purpose
-       One count of possession of a firearm knowing they are unauthorized
-       One count of uttering threats
