Damien TAYPOTAT arrested on domestic charges

The Calgary Police Service has arrested Damien Chris TAYPOTAT, a man wanted on multiple warrants for domestic incidents.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, police officers stopped to assist a stranded vehicle parked on the centre median of Sarcee Trail N.W., just north of Stoney Trail. The officers identified the driver as TAYPOTAT and arrested him without incident.

TAYPOTAT, 36, is charged with multiple offences, including three counts of uttering threats to cause death, four counts of failing to comply with court orders, and one count each of break and enter, assault with a weapon, possession of a controlled substance, and theft under $5,000.

While public tips did not lead to the arrest in this case, the Calgary Police Service would still like to thank the public and media for helping with the search for TAYPOTAT. In many cases, publicly sharing information about people police need to find does result in valuable tips. These tips help investigators quickly locate suspects and ensure they do not pose a threat to the community.

Due to the domestic nature of these charges, no further information can be released to protect the privacy of the victim.
