Charges laid in Panorama Hills double homicide

The Calgary Police Service has charged a man in connection with a double homicide that occurred last month.

At approximately 5:15 a.m., on Saturday, June 10, 2017, emergency crews were called to a home in the 0-100 block of Panamount Common N.W., for reports of four people in medical distress.

It’s believed there was an altercation inside the home between several people who were known to each other, which escalated to a violent assault.

The victims were identified as Chandrababu THAMBU, 56, and his son Preijanthan CHANDRABABU, 25, both of Calgary. Both were found deceased at the home.

The suspect was taken to hospital with critical injuries and where he received medical treatment. He is not a member of the victims’ family, however, is known to them.

Anandaloj SRIANANDAN, 27, of Calgary, has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder. He is next scheduled to appear in court on Monday, July 10, 2017.
