Charges laid in Castleridge homicide

We have arrested and charged a man in relation to a suspicious death that occurred yesterday in the northeast community of Castleridge that has resulted in the death of a woman.

At approximately 7 a.m., Friday, June 17, 2022, we were called to the 0-100 block of Castleridge Drive N.E., for reports of a person in medical distress. A woman in her 20s was found deceased within the residence.

Upon completion of the autopsy that took place yesterday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the victim has been identified as 25-year-old Autumn Levi CROSS CHILD, and her death is now considered to be a homicide.

Officers who attended the scene located the complainant who was eventually taken into custody for questioning. It was at this time investigators determined the complainant to be a suspect in the death of CROSS CHILD.

As a result, Brandon Noland YELLOWFLY, 24, has been charged with first degree murder in relation to the death of CROSS CHILD.

He is scheduled to next appear in court on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. This marks the 15th homicide for Calgary this year.
