Calgary Fire Department Responds To Two Alarm Fire on Sunridge Way N.E.

At approximately 1100 am this morning Calgary fire crews were called to a structure fire in the 2000 block of Sunridge way NE. Smoke and fire were present when firefighters arrived on the scene.

A second alarm was called to ensure adequate resources on scene.

Firefighters quickly initiated an interior fire attack and search and were able to knock down and control the fire. All occupants were able to safely exit the business however two bystanders were treated on scene by AHS with one being transported to hospital with breathing difficulty. There were no injuries to firefighters.

Enmax and Atco were present to assist with securing the utilities. AHS was on scene to assist with any medical concerns. CPS assisted with traffic and crowd control at the scene.

Fire crews including a fire investigator will remain on scene throughout the day to ensure there is no fire extension and to confirm extinguishment.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
