Update: Oakmoor Drive homicide investigation

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is seeking public assistance in locating a man wanted for questioning in a recent death investigation.

The person of interest, Mohammadali DARABI, 32, of Calgary, is being sought in connection with the death of his roommate, a man in his 20s who was found deceased Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 4:45 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, police were called to a residence in the 2300 block of Oakmoor Drive S.W., after a man was found deceased inside the home by a family member.

This death was initially being investigated as suspicious, but new details have led police to believe the incident was a homicide. An autopsy on the victim is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017.

Detectives believe DARABI left the residence on Oakmoor Drive Sunday afternoon and was seen driving a silver-coloured, 2006 Toyota Corolla with Alberta plate BKW 1855.

Photos of DARABI and a car similar to the one he is believed to be driving are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

DARABI is 6’1” tall and 168 pounds, with a slim build. His appearance may not be exactly as depicted in the photo released and he may be clean-shaven and have longer or shorter hair.

Anyone who may have information about DARABI’s whereabouts is asked not to approach him, but to call police at 911, the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234, or Crime Stoppers anonymously using either of the following methods:
