Serious injury pedestrian collision - Centre Street South

The Calgary Police Service is investigating a serious injury pedestrian collision that took place this morning.

At approximately, 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, a black 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche was traveling eastbound on 3 Avenue S.W., turning left onto Centre Street South.

An 83-year-old man stepped off of the northwest corner of the sidewalk and was crossing eastbound when he was struck by the Chevrolet Avalanche. The man was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition.

The driver of the Chevrolet Avalanche did not receive any injuries.

Alcohol and speed are not considered factors in this collision.
