Douglasdale suspicious death found to be a homicide

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has completed the autopsy on a man who died earlier this week in the community of Douglasdale.

At approximately 8 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, police were called to a home in the 100 block of Douglasbank Way S.E., after receiving numerous calls for reports of a disturbance and a possible break and enter in progress.

When officers arrived on scene they found one man in life-threatening condition and a woman with serious injuries. Both were transported to hospital, where the man succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has now been identified as Dion James BEAR, 39, of Calgary. His death has been determined to be a homicide.
