YouthLink Calgary Police Interpretive Centre provides safe summer camps for a second year amidst the pandemic

This media release is being issued on behalf of the YouthLink Calgary Police Interpretive Centre

The YouthLink Calgary Police Interpretive Centre is offering summer camps in an effort to help parents through the pandemic.

In the summer of 2020, YouthLink Calgary provided a safe place for kids to have fun after spending months in lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic. After three months of summer camps, we were thrilled to report that no COVID-19 cases had been linked to our centre.

Staff reimagined the summer camps to encourage safe health practices, but always remembered to include the excitement and magic of YouthLink.

With the pandemic still causing disruption in our day-to-day lives, we felt it was more important than ever to bring back summer camps. YouthLink Calgary is looking for junior detectives aged 6-12 to join us in July and August for VIP police experiences, forensic experiments and team investigations.

“Last year, we asked parents to trust us with their children during a time filled with uncertainty. YouthLink Calgary is so grateful to those parents and we hope to return the favour again this year. We know that youth are struggling with social anxiety during the pandemic, and we will continue to offer a safe place for kids to be kids.” says Executive Director, Tara Robinson.

YouthLink Calgary Summer Camps operate Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Our camps sell out every year and we anticipate another successful summer as safety remains our top priority.
