Youth Hiring Fair 2025: Calgary’s largest youth hiring event connecting 15-24-year-olds with employment opportunities returns on March 27
The City of Calgary’s Youth Employment Centre (YEC) is excited to announce the return of Calgary’s largest youth hiring fair, set to take place at the Big Four Building on Thursday, March 27, from 1:30 to 6 p.m.
Designed for high school students, recent graduates, post-secondary students and young adults looking to enter the workforce, this free event connects job seekers with 80 employers actively hiring. Whether attendees are searching for their first job, a part-time role or full-time employment, the Youth Hiring Fair provides a valuable opportunity to explore job openings and connect with employers.
For 26 years, the Youth Hiring Fair has helped bridge the gap between Calgary’s youth and employment opportunities, connecting close to 2,000 employers with over 97,000 youth. Each year, more than 5,000 young people attend the fair to gain job search experience, explore career options and secure employment opportunities—making it Calgary’s largest youth-focused hiring event.
"As Calgary’s youth continue to shape our city’s future, the Youth Hiring Fair plays a crucial role in helping them access opportunities that align with their talents and aspirations,” says Heather Johnson, Director of Recreation & Social Programs at The City of Calgary. “This event not only connects them with employers but also builds the foundation for future career growth, helping our city’s youth develop the skills they need to thrive."
Tara Huxley, Team Lead at the YEC, adds, “Youth who take the time to prepare in advance will gain a competitive edge at the fair. Our free services, including resume assistance, job search strategies and interview coaching, are designed to equip young job seekers with the tools they need to make a lasting impression.”
Youth are invited to visit the YEC at 315 10th Ave. S.E. before the event to make the most of these valuable services. The YEC team is ready to assist with everything from perfecting resumes to sharpening interview skills, ensuring job seekers are fully prepared to engage with employers at the fair. For those unable to attend the event, the YEC offers continuous employment services and connects young people with employers year-round, helping them succeed at every stage of their career journey.
