Youth Employment Centre in-person Hiring Fair connects youth to job opportunities

Today, The City’s Youth Employment Centre (YEC) will give young Calgarians aged 15-24 the opportunity to meet with potential employers. The 24th annual in-person Youth Hiring Fair is at the Big Four Building on Stampede Park from 1:30 p.m.- 6 p.m. The event features almost 90 employers from a variety of industries including recreation, customer service, hospitality, and financial services.

“Today is an excellent opportunity for youth to connect with nearly 90 local employers in a variety of different industries with more than 4,000 job opportunities available. Employers are eager to connect with Calgary youth to fill their part-time, full-time, seasonal, and year-round positions,” says Christina David, Community Relations Liaison for the Youth Employment Centre. “It’s the largest youth hiring event in Calgary, typically attracting more than 5,000 young job seekers. We are excited to be able to host this event in-person again.”

The City of Calgary’s Youth Employment Centre holds a hiring fair annually. The Centre is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and offers free career planning and employment services including employment counseling, networking assistance, resume assistance, interview preparation, and industry training.

The Youth Hiring Fair runs until 6 p.m. today, but Youth Employment Centre services and new job opportunities are available year-round. For more information, including a list of companies participating in the fair, please visit www.youthemploymentcentre.ca

The hiring fair will follow event guidelines suggested by AHS, including having optional masks and hand sanitizer available. We ask guests to stay home if they are sick or have COVID-19 symptoms, or if they are required to isolate or quarantine.
