Witness sought in suspected spiked drink incident

Investigators are hoping to speak with a man they believe may have more information about an incident at a local bar in which two women ended up being transported to hospital in medical distress.

Around 11 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, a group of friends were at One Night Stan’s, 524 17 Ave. S.W., to celebrate a birthday. While there, two members of the group became extremely ill and disorientated. Bar staff assisted the group in securing a safe ride home. Once they arrived home, the two ill members became unconscious and were subsequently transported to hospital by EMS.

Since then, investigators have located and spoke to many of the witnesses who were in the bar at the time, however, one individual has yet to be located and investigators believe he may have useful information.

The man is described as around 6’ tall, approximately 25 years old and 170 pounds, with brown hair. He was wearing a black leather jacket and glasses. CCTV photos of the man can be found on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

Anyone with information about this incident, or the identity and whereabouts of the witness is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be left anonymously through Crime Stoppers:
