Victim of suspicious death identified

The victim of a suspicious death that occurred earlier this week at a northeast hotel has been identified and we are now investigating this incident as a homicide.

Following an autopsy, the victim has been identified as Sharilyn Shelley Ann GAGNON, 33, of Calgary.

The Homicide Unit continues to investigate and detectives believe that GAGNON was murdered sometime on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. It is not believed to have been a random incident and the motive is still under investigation.
