Victim of Pineridge homicide identified

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has formally identified the victim of a recent homicide in Pineridge.

Randeep Singh DHALIWAL, 39, of Calgary, died as the result of an assault. DHALIWAL’s body was discovered on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at a residence in the 100 block of Pineside Place N.E.

Christopher Thomas DEJARLAIS, 41, of Calgary, is charged with second-degree murder in connection with DHALIWAL’s death.

Man charged in connection with Pineridge homicide

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has charged a man in connection with a recent murder in Pineridge.

At approximately 3:50 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, police were called to the 100 block of Pineside Place N.E., after a report of a body being discovered inside one of the residences.

An autopsy on the deceased, a man in his 40s, is currently underway and his identity will be released by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner upon the conclusion of the procedure.

Following the discovery of the body, detectives received information that led them to a suspect in this case. It’s alleged the victim and the accused, who had mutual acquaintances, got into a verbal altercation at which time the accused fatally assaulted the victim.

Christopher Thomas DEJARLAIS, 41, of Calgary, is charged with second-degree murder. He was arrested on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017.
