Victim identified in Marlborough homicide

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has arrested two individuals in relation to the shooting death of a man last night.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, police were called to the 4600 block of Maryvale Drive N.E., for reports of a man being shot. Police found a man in his 20s deceased at the scene.

Quick action by officers who arrived at the scene enabled a description of a suspects and an associated vehicle to be distributed to officers across the city. A maroon pickup truck matching the description of the vehicle that fled the scene was found by officers in the Bowness area.

It is believed the suspects left the truck and got into a car, travelling to an address in Ogdan. One man later left the Ogden location and returned to the Bowness address where he was arrested. The second man was eventually arrested at an address on Applegrove Crescent S.E.

Both suspects are currently in custody for questioning. Their names and details of their charges will be released once charges have been formally laid.

An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has identified the victim as Emmanuel KEROR, 22, of Calgary. He died as a result of the shooting.

Investigators believe this to be a targeted shooting that may be related to the 2012 homicide of Philip Salviu ANNY. Details of the relationship of the suspect cannot be released until they have been formally charged.

This is the third homicide in Calgary in 2016.
