Victim identified- Manchester Industrial area stabbing

Following an autopsy, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has formally identified the victim of a stabbing in the Manchester Industrial area as Valeri LOMAKINE, 37, of Calgary.

ORIGINAL RELEASE - Police investigating death in southwest Calgary

The Calgary Police Service is currently investigating a suspicious death that occurred in the Manchester Industrial area earlier today.

At approximately 10 a.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, police were called to check on the welfare of a man in the 5700 block of 2 Street S.W. The man was found suffering from stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy has not yet been scheduled and the Homicide Unit is now investigating.
