Victim identified - Suspicious death Rundlewood Road N.E

Following an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the identity of a man that was found in medical distress after an assault on Friday, May 3, 2019, has been confirmed as Dwane Charles LANOIS, 47, of Calgary.

Update: Suspicious death investigation

A woman has been charged in relation to the death of a man on the weekend.

Roberta Lynn Wolfchild, 50, has been charged with second-degree murder. She will appear in court today, Monday, May 6, 2019.

The identity of the victim will be released once official identification has occurred as a result of the autopsy, which has been delayed until Tuesday, May 7, 2019.

Suspicious death investigation

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has been called out to investigate following a suspicious death that occurred in the city’s northeast.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., on Friday, May 3, 2019, police were called to a residence in the 4900 block of Rundlewood Road N.E., for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, a man in his 40s was located in medical distress and was declared deceased a short time later by EMS on scene.

A woman in her 50s was taken from the home and is currently in custody. This is believed to be a domestic matter. Police are not looking for any further suspects at this time.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, May 5, 2019. No further information is available at this time.
