Vehicle pursuit following traffic stop

Charges are pending against two individuals after a vehicle failed to remain at a traffic stop.

At approximately 10 a.m., today, Wednesday, July 26, 2017, officers pulled over a stolen 2006 Lexus RX330 in the 4200 block of 14 Avenue S.E., for speeding. The vehicle driven by a 30-year-old woman first stopped and then began to reverse, striking a CPS vehicle before driving away at a high speed.

A short while after, the driver lost control and crashed into fencing outside a house in the 5400 block of 14 Avenue S.E.

A male passenger was arrested at the scene. The driver was taken to hospital as a precaution. Charges are pending against both of them.
