Vehicle of interest in homicide investigation

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is releasing CCTV photos of a vehicle of interest in the investigation into the death of Itgel BAATARSUREN.

Just after 9 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, medical staff at the Sheldon Chumir Health Centre called police when they were alerted to a man being dropped off at their facility with a gunshot wound.

Investigators believe the shooting may have taken place in the 900 block of 36 Street N.E., between the hours of 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Police are seeking public assistance with information about a dark-coloured, four-door, 1999-2003 Mazda Protégé that was in the area at the time. CCTV images of the vehicle can be found on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

At this time, investigators believe this vehicle and the occupants were involved in the shooting. It is not yet known how many occupants there may have been in the suspect vehicle.
