Update: Police lay charges in series of break and enters and look to return stolen property
Earlier this year, we investigated a series of residential break and enters that occurred throughout the city during spring 2023, and as a result, one man was charged in relation to the incidents in May 2023.
Between Thursday, April 6, 2023, and Wednesday, May 3, 2023, it is believed several homes were targeted and various pieces of jewelry were stolen.
Since then, we continued our investigation and identified an additional man who is believed to be involved by pawning the stolen jewelry which was taken during the break and enters.
On Thursday, June 8, 2023, a search warrant was executed in the 500 block of Riverfront Avenue S.E., resulting in several items being seized by police.
As a result, we have charged 37-year-old Joshua Jeremy Quintin GWYN, of Calgary, with one count of trafficking stolen property over $5,000.
GWYN will next appear in court on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023.
We are now looking to reunite the seized jewelry with the rightful owners.
